Hi, welcome to OpenFox, a domain I set up to help people with integrating Microsoft Visual FoxPro and FOSS (Free and Open Source) technologies, including even trying to convince Microsoft to open up Visual FoxPro and let the community improve it and port it to other platforms such as Apple Macintosh and Linux.
I didn't get very far, and since then I've actually abandoned creating new applications with Visual FoxPro, in favor of using Open Source technologies such as the Python programming language, the MySQL database engine, the wxPython GUI toolkit, and the Apache web server.
To replace Visual FoxPro, I teamed up with another VFP guru, Ed Leafe, and created a powerful desktop application framework called Dabo, which contains the API for coding 3-tier, multiplatform database applications using Python. In addition to the high-level API, we are also working on User Interface designers, report designers, and a project manager to integrate your development efforts. It is in active development, but the framework part is quite stable and ready to use. Please check it out!
